Cara earned her Juris Doctor degree at the University of Toronto and a Masters of Law at Osgoode Hall Law School.
Before opening her practice in Muskoka, Cara worked for the Ministry of the Attorney General, and as an associate lawyer at a number of private firms. Her practice is varied, with a focus on civil litigation, which has included wrongful deaths, and numerous historical and institutional abuse cases on behalf of plaintiffs, as well all appearing in courts on behalf of First Nations governments. She has appeared at Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal numerous times. She also represents minors involved in civil courts on behalf of The Office of the Children's Lawyer.
